DHL and Cincinnati Works Announce Innovative Partnership

DHL & Cincinnati Works announce partnership.


Cincinnati Works and DHL announced a new collaboration to support all DHL employees working at its CVG Hub at the Cincinnati / Northern Kentucky International Airport. The initiative embeds coaching and resource navigation services from Cincinnati Works, offered on-site at the CVG Hub as part of an overall DHL benefits package. All employees at the Hub will have access to free, confidential, one-on-one coaching to help them build stability in their personal lives and pursue career advancement. The Cincinnati Works coach worked with nearly 50 employees during the pilot on issues such as mental health, managing finances, and work attendance. The broader rollout expands the service to DHL’s 4,500 Hub employees in all departments, with two Cincinnati Works coaches providing on-site service four days per week.

DHL CVG Hub Donation Helps Local School’s Athletic Program.

DHL CVG donates to local school


The CVG Hub continues to build relationships in their community and support local schools, and recently announced a new partnership with Woodward Center and Technical High School. After several discussions with the school on how DHL could make an impact, the CVG Hub donated $14,000 to the school to purchase a new commercial washer and dryer. The donation will be a tremendous resource for the school, whose student athletes and coaches struggle with the resources to properly clean their uniforms in between games.

DHL Adopts Arnett Elementary

dhl-community-schoolSince the 2018/2019 school year, the DHL Express CVG Hub has “adopted” Arnett Elementary, located in Erlanger, KY. The partnership allows DHL to connect our thousands of employees with a local school in need, creating volunteer opportunities to be a lunch buddy, to help with tutoring, reading, or facility improvement. DHL also helps support with quarterly resource drives for school supplies and helping sponsor their uniform and equipment needs.

DHL Delivers Textbooks to Uganda


The CVG Hub team helped coordinate a shipment from a local charitable organization to their mission school in Uganda, East Africa. The Sisters of Notre Dame from Northern Kentucky sought the help of DHL to move and deliver 11 boxes of books.

Courier Jonathan Hill picked up the pallet of donation boxes from The Sisters of Notre Dame, transported them to the hub where the team sorted and packed them for shipment to Uganda. The textbooks will benefit the all-girls secondary school, mission farm and vocation center that educates more than 600 students annually and employs 35 local residents.

DHL GoGreen Initiative

DHL Go Greendhl-community-tree-planting 

DHL Express has a goal of achieving zero emissions by 2050–a program you can read more about here. Locally, DHL supports this GoGreen initiative by planting over 6,500 trees in partnership with Kenton County Conservation since 2018.

DHL Supports Go Pantry Food Drive


In August, the DHL CVG Hub held a collection drive for Go Pantry. The team came together to collect non-perishable food items which could be delivered to local schools. Go Pantry is a non-profit organization providing food for hungry kids in Northern Kentucky on days that schools are not open. For more information, vistit: https://www.gopantry.org/

American Heart Association Heart Mini March


The American Heart Association’s Heart Mini March is Greater Cincinnati’s largest fundraising event, with over 20,000 people coming together to help raise life saving funds to fight heart disease and stroke. Even though the actual march was cancelled due to COVID, the now virtual event raised over $3.27 million! The DHL CVG Hub participated by being the corporate bag sponsor, as well as hosting internal employee fundraising teams.
