FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
All applicants for Ramp and Warehouse Agent positions are required to pass a physical capability requirement, a drug screen, DHL background check, US Customs background check and CVG Airport clearance. The application usually takes place over two sessions at the DHL Recruitment Center with each session taking about an hour to complete.
Please bring a driver’s license or state issued photo ID, your social security card, and your state issued birth certificate.
Because DHL is located on CVG airport property, it is required to conduct a criminal background check on all potential candidates. The policies and regulations of the Kenton County Airport Board, Transportation Security Administration, and US Customs & Border Protection prohibit DHL from hiring individuals that have been convicted of a felony within the last ten years. An applicant who has been convicted of a misdemeanor will not be automatically disqualified from employment with DHL, but rather will be reviewed in accordance with the requirements set forth under state and federal law.
Ramp and Warehouse Agent positions are permanent positions. DHL offers flexible schedules with both part-time and full-time options.
Schedules vary depending on department and business needs, and applicants will be notified at time of application the shifts that are available and the hours for such shifts. In general, 3rd shift workers start around 11:30pm and 1st shift workers start around 5:00am.
After six months of employment as a Ramp or Warehouse Agent, employees in good standing are eligible to apply for any position in the DHL network. A significant amount of DHL managers, directors and executives started out working as a Ramp or Warehouse Agent. DHL has a proud history of investing in our employees and promoting from within.
Overtime is available at the discretion of the management team, and is dependent upon business needs and supervisor approval.
DHL Ramp and Warehouse Agent Employees in good standing are eligible for two wage increases per year for their first three years and then annually after their third year.
Medical, Dental and Vision benefits become effective on the first day of the month following your hiring date for full-time employees. For part-time employees, medical, dental and vision benefits become effective on the first day of the month following 60 consecutive days of employment. Access to other DHL benefits such as the 401k program or tuition reimbursement begin with your date of employment.
15 hours per week is the minimum schedule required to qualify for DHL benefits.
